The Mayors’ Council of Guam wants to work with the Guam Visitors Bureau to put on the parade during the 80th Liberation day celebration.

GVB already announced a special rate with United Airlines for people traveling to the island for the festivities on July 21.

During a meeting today, mayors shared that they still need more candidates to run for Liberation Queen.

So far, only Piti, Santa Rita, and Mangilao have submitted applicants. Mayors Council President Jesse Alig encouraged all villages to have representation.

“I really encourage everyone else to have a candidate. Dededo is trying and Barrigada is trying,” said Alig.

Contestants need to be between the ages of 18 to 25 to participate.
