A small business is finding itself the target of a second break-in reported within recent months. Thrifty Car Rental along Airport Road was hit hard by thieves just after midnight on Sunday.

A Thrifty employee said, “It’s just really…I’m still puzzled by the break-ins and thefts going on because we are a small business, and it’s just really devastating right now.”

Security footage captured two of three suspects in the act.

A man and woman in baseball caps and face masks ransacked an office drawer, stuffing their bag with whatever they could get their hands on, before rifling through other areas.

One Thrifty employee, who we are not naming for their safety, told KUAM the thieves, two men and a woman, got away with documents, a laptop, office supplies, rental car keys, and more.

“The value is, of course, in the thousands for those items,” said the employee.

One thing the surveillance video doesn’t show is how the three thieves broke in.

Employees speculate they may have hopped over a back gate. One thief tampered with the security cameras outside, breaking a lock box with office keys inside and entering.

The burglars were also going through trash cans, vandalizing cars under repair in the lot, and even attempting to steal some parts.

The employee added, “From what we can see, they did cut up some wires in there [the cars].”

The burglars left behind a puzzling trail of their getaway. Some stolen items were found scattered on the ground from the building to the back gate that they cut open.

Now, this small business is hoping for justice before those responsible strike again.

“It’s not only for us; It’s for everyone in our community,” said the employee.

If you recognize the burglars or have information, you are asked to call the police immediately.
