Fire authorities battle three separate grass fires reported an hour apart

Three grass fires burning about an hour apart kept authorities on high alert midday Friday.
Viewer submitted footage shows dark plumes of smoke captured off Route 16.
A driver was heard in the video saying he's surprised the fire got worse.
Just before 1 p.m., units with the Guam Fire Department responded to Chalan Bareta in Dededo for what was reported to be a grass or trash fire burning about 1-acre.
Then at 1:51 p.m., GFD also responded to two separate grass fires at Carmen Memorial Drive in Tamuning and at South Ukudo behind St. Paul’s Christian School.
Firefighters with GFD and the Guam Department of Agriculture’s Forestry Division worked through the afternoon to put out the flames.
This as the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for Guam until 7 pm Friday.
A fire weather watch is also in effect until Sunday evening.
