The Guam Department of Education (PK-12) has gained a six-year accreditation status from the Accrediting Commission for Schools (ACS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

The Accreditation status is based on the information provided by GDOE–including the school’s report and the satisfactory completion of the accreditation visit.

GDOE’s WASC accreditation status is through to June 30, 2030–with a mid-cycle report in the 2026-2027 year.

In response to the successful accreditation, GDOE superintendent Dr. Kenneth Swanson stated, “This is a wonderful achievement for our team. We are thrilled to see the results of our collective efforts and commitment to improving the learning outcomes for our island students. Our systemwide action strategy plan has been implemented with passion and excellence by our students, teachers, principals, and the central office. We are very proud of this accomplishment and look forward to more successes in the future.”

Guam DOE must comply with ACS WASC policies, procedures, and standards or risk modification or withdrawal of the accreditation.
