Adelup continues to rally support for medical complex in Barrigada-Mangilao

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero continues her public outreach in support of a bill to authorize her to purchase crown land in Barrigada-Mangilao for a new medical complex.
Adelup Communications Director Krystal Paco-San Agustin says Leon Guerrero's presentation will be tailored specifically to medical professionals.
“We have about two dozen medical professionals that RSVP'd for tonight. Again the invitation remains open, we're working to live stream the event and for more information people can visit www.guam.gov.,” Paco-San Agustin shared.
She continued, “Now that we're talking directly to our medical professionals I think the Governors really just gonna be a lot of open ears ready to answer questions from our medical professionals. Again a lot of that information has already been made public, we're learning a lot too about key things people want to know. Things people, they wanna know more about what's gonna be included in this facility, how long will it be, when can we start. A lot of the progress is stalled at this point with the Guam Memorial Hospital because we need bill 184.”
At this point it all comes down to the location for a new hospital. The Governor's bill 184 would authorize the purchase of crown land in Barrigada-Mangilao for a medical complex.
However, there's also bill 185 by Senator Chris Barnett which would require that a new GMH be built in Tamuning.
Both of these bills have undergone lengthy public hearings. And while neither are on this week's session agenda, supporters of either measure could still make a motion to add them.
Paco-San Agustin said, “We await word from the Guam Legislature, if they have additional questions they know where to call. We're prepared to provide additional information. We have not received word yet about bill 184 or bill 185, making it to session floor at this time. We anxiously await word.”
Once again, the Governor's outreach to medical professionals is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. at the Hilton hotel.
The presentation will also be live-streamed.
