He caught the eye of the governor's security detail while she was on her morning walk.

Now, 32-year-old Byron Taimanglo Muna is facing charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

According to a magistrate's complaint, on Monday morning, Muna was allegedly drinking a bottle of beer and brandishing a knife in Asan when the executive security officers saw him. Muna allegedly began walking toward the governor but was stopped. He then threw his knife on the ground.

Responding police officers also noted he appeared drunk.

Muna is on pretrial release for a November 2022 case where he allegedly stole more than $1,300 worth of items, including cash and credit cards from a man in Piti.
