Disaster Unemployment Assistance program launches Tuesday

Assistance is underway for those still feeling the impacts of Typhoon Mawar. The Guam Department of Labor is launching the Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA) program on September 5.
The FEMA-funded program, administered by the USDOL, aims to provide temporary partial income replacement for those who lost their jobs due to the typhoon. The weekly estimated assistance amount for Guam is $384.
DUA benefits are retroactive from May 28, 2023, and can be paid up to November 25, 2023 - if an individual remains eligible. Those interested are encouraged to file for DUA online at hireguam.com. Those already registered should ensure their accounts are active.
For assistance or more information, contact DOL or visit dol.guam.gov/dua or review the FAQs document or the Claim Filing Guide.
