Lawmakers will meet on Tuesday, May 30 at 10:00am to discuss two Bills that will appropriate some $65-million dollars for typhoon recovery assistance.

In her justification for an emergency session, Speaker Therese Terlaje said, “both bills aim to address the emergency conditions threatening the health and welfare of the people of Guam resulting from Typhoon Mawar by expanding the Governor’s authority  for emergency expenditures.”

$50-million will come from the fiscal year 2023 budget, which senators expect to collect revenues in excess of what was projected.
The other $14.5-million will be from the rainy day fund that was to be set aside by the administration.
