The first batch of 2022 tax refunds will be disbursed starting Friday. According to the Department of Finance, disbursement includes the Earned IncomeTax Credits and 2022 individual income tax refunds.

7,872 taxpayers make up the first batch, including 3,682 for EITC totaling $5.3 million, and 4,190 for regular rebates totaling $3 million.

The Office of the Governor says taxpayers opting for physical checks are asked to allow three to five working days for the U.S.Postal Service to sort and distribute mail. They added that if direct deposit bankinformation has errors, the refund will be converted to a check. The office says that the Child Tax Credit will be processed once they receive funding.

The Division of Revenue and Taxation will process tax refunds on a biweekly basis.
