The end of an era but the beginning of a new journey.

The Pacific Daily News overnight printed its final edition of the local newspaper.

A video captured by PDN photographer Rick Cruz shows its final copies moving through its Dededo printing press.

The historic move comes after decades of providing news for Guam -- printing since after World War II.

PDN President Rindraty Limtiaco told KUAM this truly is the right step, saying the decision to go exclusively digital comes as newspaper readership and subscriptions are down across the nation.

She added it doesn’t make economic sense to keep the print edition running, highlighting more than 95 percent of their readers are online.
