A famous Saipan tourist site is cutting its hours due to the CNMI government's deficit.

Acting Department of Lands and Natural Resources Secretary Manuel Pangelinan announced the grotto will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. only due to budgetary constraints starting today.

The move is expected to be the first of many cost-cutting measures as Gov. Arnold Palacios says "everything is on the table" to reduce the islands' multi-million dollar deficit, which he is expected to provide more specific details on in a few weeks.

He invites members of the public to call 670-483-6261 with any questions or concerns.
