There's an update on the murder of an American attorney general in Yap.

The verdict hearing for the second defendant, Francis Chaoy Buchun, is now delayed until later this month.

Buchun is accused in the deadly shooting of Yap’s acting AG Rachelle Bergeron.

His cousin, co-defendant Anthony Tun Teteeth was convicted of murder last week.

Investigators say the pair used a 12-gauge shotgun to shoot and kill Bergeron and her dog in front of her home after she had gone for a run back in October 2019.

The case is before Yap state court and the FSM Supreme Court.

Buchun’s verdict hearing is now set for Jan. 27
