The U.S. District Court and the Department of Agriculture have issued a challenge to local firefighters. Chief Judge Frances Tydingco Gatewood has put a fun contest together for all Guam fire stations to see who can harvest the most crops in 90 days!

Her Honor said, "As we honor these particular heroes, our firefighters, it's our mission to try and educate the community on how they can be contributing citizens. Not just in doing our jobs, but how outside of that, how can we contribute to our community?"

Over the weekend seedlings for red pepper, Chinese cabbage, green eggplants and long beans were delivered to the various fire houses in villages as a fun activity to build camaraderie and civic pride.
