Four arrested for fishing in marine preserve
Four people were arrested for illegal fishing in the Tumon Bay Marine Protected Area last Saturday.
Hemrick Namio, 23, Jester Benito, 19, Joey Sontag Martin, 44, and Phillip Wesny, 32, were arrested. The arrests were made by Conservation Officers who were on night patrol who saw four lights shining from the Fai Fai beach area. They were charged with “Activities within Marine Preserves and Special Regulations to be Applied to Select Marine Preserves." According to the Department of Agriculture, Conservation Officers were able to confiscate all fishing paraphernalia and catch from the individuals.
