Materials shortage latest setback for GCC/GPD forensic lab

The opening of the Guam Community College and Guam Police Department's forensic lab, which will help the island with DNA analysis, is still unknown at this time. "It is difficult to say when it will be ready," GCC Assistant Communications and Promotions Director John Dela Rosa said in a statement to KUAM News.
The opening is delayed "due to shortages in materials and supplies for the fire alarm system." He noted the project is about 98.31% complete.
As KUAM News reported, the lab will be located in the back, while the teaching facility will have classrooms in the front. GPD and GCC broke ground for the new lab in October 2019.
A&E was funded by USDOI. USDA and GCC CIP were used for construction.
GPD currently works with either the NCIS or FBI for help with DNA analysis.
