3 more deaths linked to COVID

Today the Joint Information Center confirmed three COVID-19 related fatalities bringing the total to 273 deaths since March 2020.
-The 271st COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Dec. 24, 2021. The patient was a 76-year-old female, vaccinated with underlying health conditions. She tested positive the same day.
-The 272nd COVID-19-related fatality was pronounced dead on arrival at the Guam Regional Medical City on Dec. 31, 2021. The patient was a 58-year-old male, vaccinated. He tested positive on the same day.
-The 273rd COVID-19-related fatality occurred at GMH on Jan. 1, 2022. The patient was a 47-year-old female, vaccinated with underlying health conditions. She tested positive on Jan. 2 (post-mortem).
The JIC also reports there are now 8 people that are hospitalized for COVID-19, to include two pediatric admissions. Of those patients 5 are vaccinated, 2 are unvaccinated, and 1 is ineligible.
Public Health confirms 71 new positive cases of COVID-19 (7 from Public Health and 64 from various private clinics). To date, there have been a total of 19,689 officially reported cases, 273 deaths, 410 cases in active isolation, and 19,006 not in active isolation. The CAR Score jumps significantly to 9.0.
As of Dec. 30, a total of 129,550 of Guam’s eligible population is fully vaccinated. This total includes:
-12,591 residents 12 – 17 years old.
-4,866 residents 5 – 11 years old received their first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech two dose series.
-2,887 residents 5 – 11 years old have completed their two-dose series.
-39,593 booster shots have been administered to eligible residents
