Indo-Pacific Man-o-War spotted in Guam waters

Watch out for Indo-Pacific Man-o-War or bluebottle spotted along the islands east and west coasts. According to the Department of Agriculture’s Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources, the jellyfish are present on the beach and in the water due to high surf conditions Be cautious in both locations because the jellyfish can still sting even if they are dead and on the beach.
The blue bottle Man-o-War jellyfish are different from the man-o-wars and in many cases, less dangerous.
If Man-o-Wars are seen, please notify the Department of Agriculture. Call 735-0289/91/94, or e-mail Rodney.Tibbatts@doag.guam.gov. Indicate if it is jellyfish, or man-o-wars (the blue bubble).
