Troy Torres named in revenge porn lawsuit

A civil lawsuit alleging revenge pornography has been filed by Janela Carrera against Troy Torres, the owner of Kandit Inc. and other unnamed individuals.
Carrera is alleging revenge pornography for images of her posted on Kandit's Facebook page in May.
She is seeking a trial by jury, temporary restraining order and permanent injunction, along with attorney's fees and special and punitive damages.
The revenge pornography law, enacted in 2016 makes it unlawful to distribute images of persons depicted in a state of nudity or engaged in sexual activities. It is a crime punishable up to a third-degree felony.
Carrera has reported the issue to local authorities and the FBI, her attorney Vanessa Williams said.
"Public Law 35-67 also allows Mrs. Carrera to take decisive action against those who share or threaten to share content of this nature in bad faith; these images have no relevance to her job nor are they a matter of public concern," she said. "We are confident that the law will protect her and that she will prevail on the merits of her civil case."
Carrera is the Communications Director for Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero.
