Trial has been delayed by one week for Brandon Acosta.

Acosta faces rape and murder charges for the 2018 death of teen Timmica Nauta.

Acosta asserted his rights and plead not guilty. Trial was scheduled for Feb. 17. Although the government requested for a two-week delay and the defense agreed to a one week push back.

The court granted the week delay and scheduled trial for Feb. 24.
It was also stated in court that both parties have submitted their witness list, and Judge Vern Perez asked the government to provide more information on an expert witness before trial begins.

A return was set for Feb. 21.
