The U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development has approved GHURA's request to implement a "Success Rate Payment Standard" for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program.

GHURA will go from a using the 40th percentile Fair Market Rent calculation rate to the 50th percentile, increasing vouchers for 3-bedroom units by $124 a month and $150 a month for 4-bedroom units.

According to GHURA, the change will increase opportunities for Section 8 families to find safe decent and sanitary units for rent. It also will allow GHURA to use up more than $2.7 million in HUD funding that would have otherwise been sent
