After several hours of questioning three people were arrested in connection to the shooting death of Keith Castro.

33-year-old Joshua Palacios was taken into custody and questioned by detectives from the Guam Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division on Friday. 27-year-old Thomas Taitano also self surrendered to detectives.

Taitano was brought into the Agana Precinct at around 1:30 on Saturday morning. As he was walking in he told KUAM “I didn’t do anything”.  He was arrested for Aggravated Assault as a Third Degree Felony, Criminal Mischief, Child Abuse, Reckless Driving, Family Violence, Unsafe Lane Change/Straddling, and Eluding a Police Officer. As we reported a warrant for his arrest was issued last year. He was granted three years parole in July 2017 after serving time in DOC for multiple charges to include Assault and Arson. However Taitano had not checked in to the Parole office since last year.

At around 2:15am Joshua Palacios was brought into the Agana Precinct.  He was arrested for Aggravated Assault as a Third Degree Felony, Reckless Conduct, Assault, Terrorizing, Felonious Restraint, Guilt by Complicity, Criminal Facilitation, Conspiracy, and Resisting Arrest. Palacios was on parole. He was released from the Department of Corrections last October after serving five years for burglary and theft charges. In 2013 he was also in DOC for a slew of other charges including robbery and possession of a firearm without a firearms I.D.

A third person was brought in just before 3 o’clock in the morning. J’lene Rose Cruz Cabe was arrested for Execution of Warrants. She was booked and released. KUAM News has learned she was previously arrested in 2018 for Possession of a Scheduled I and Scheduled II Controlled Substance.

It was just before 9:00pm on July 28th when police responded to a report of a shooting at a home along Chalan Tun Fred Cabesa in Yigo. Keith Castro was transported to the Guam Regional Medical City where he was later pronounced dead by attending physicians. It is not clear whether an autopsy has been conducted yet.
