If you're trying to get a court clearance, get ready to shell out more money as the Judiciary of Guam is increasing fees.

A court clearance will be doubling in price with a 100 percent increase - going from ten dollars to twenty dollars. The cost of a traffic clearance is also doubling - from five bucks to ten dollars.
The increase goes into effect August 1, and it's the result of a Judicial Council resolution.

Judiciary spokesman Shawn Gumataotao tells KUAM fee increases will go towards the Judicial Building and Client services funds.
He says it's the first increase since 2013 and its part of a fines and fees project that started in October of last year.

Gumataotao says there will be more increases for services at the judiciary to include civil filing, client services, education and training programs.
