The University of Guam appointed Dr. Troy McVey as assistant vice president of Academic Excellence and director of Graduate Studies. McVey has served as interim AVP since 2017.

Some of McVey's responsibilities will include coordinating activities related to demonstrating academic excellence, such as program learning assessment, academic program review, and graduate capstone projects.

He will also work on faculty development, academic policy and curriculum, and student success initiatives. He joined the University in 2005 as a theater professor and has also served as the associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and as a fellow under the Senior Vice President's Office.

McVey also serves as a member of Humanities Guåhan's Board of Directors and has won an innovative teaching award from the Association for Theatre in Higher Education.
