Teri Tenorio clears her name after Torre trial incident

An order to show cause against one of the potential witnesses in the Mark Torre, Jr. murder trial has been vacated. Judge Michael Bordallo made that ruling after defense attorney Jay Arriola and the witness, Teri Tenorio, discussed the matter outside the courtroom this morning.
Tenorio, who is the sister of Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio, spoke with KUAM News last week after learning about the court order. She said the order would have put a negative mark on her professional record as a licensed attorney.
The ruling now clears her name.
As we reported, Tenorio was served a subpoena to testify as a defense witness. She tried to take the stand early on because she accepted a job in Saipan.
But, attorney Arriola told her she knew the rules and would have to show up later to testify. That resulted in the court taking further action.
She also clarified with KUAM her relationship with the victim, officer Bert Piolo, was strictly as friends.
Tenorio could take the stand tomorrow when trial resumes.
