Rotarians heard from Dr. Samuel Betances, a diversity consultant, Harvard professor, author and motivational speaker. He spoke on the new business imperative - diversity competency - and how embracing human differences in the workforce is necessary to maximize business potential.

"Diversity is the ability to understand that for the first time, women and men, as equals, people of diverse backgrounds, as equals, people who used to be dominated and subordinate, need to get rid of all of that to create inclusive teams for mission excellence," he explained.
