Guam could be hub for regional medical network
Guam - The Guam Regional Medical City has been awarded a $225,000 grant from the Asian Development Bank to fund an appraisal study for the development of healthcare services and facilities in the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The study will explore the feasibility of creating a regional health network with Guam's new hospital as its hub. grmc sought the grant following discussions in July last year with the Association of Pacific Island Legislators. Speaker Judi Won Pat is the president of APIL and endorsed the concept of a regional accountable care organization supported by a regional health fund to serve healthcare needs of the various jurisdictions in an integrated, comprehensive and cost effective manner.
