Guam - Senator Tina Muna Barnes continues to spread awareness about her Bill 215 relative to the use of medicinal marijuana on Guam. Today during a Rotary Club of Guam meeting, Senator Barnes discussed the Joaquin "KC" Concepcion Compassionate Cannabis Use Act of 2013 from its origin as a resolution first to the hundreds of public comment received, an overwhelming majority of which were in favor of medical use.

Senator Barnes says comments and suggestions continue to come in and cleared up misconceptions such as the bill does not give a free pass for people who don't have legitimate health conditions nor does it allow for driving under the influence or use in public places or schools. She adds full legalization is still an option but is probably more proper to be decided in the form of a referendum or initiative.

The bill has since been referred to the Committee on Health who according to chairman Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. is targeting a public hearing date sometime this month.
