Guam - Prepare for more rain and a possible storm. According to a release from the Governor's Office, the tropical disturbance moving closer to Guam is intensifying. Weather officials predict the disturbance will be upgraded to a tropical storm by later today.

There are no plans at this time to close schools or GovGuam offices just yet. Only the Wednesday Night Market at the Chamorro Village has been canceled.

The disturbance is currently 120 miles east of Guam with the closest point of approach anticipated tonight. Weather officials predict as the storm leaves the island, it will slow and take a north turn resulting in strong winds through Friday.

The island is currently experiencing winds of about 25 miles per hour, gusts up to 40mph. With wind speeds expected to intensify, residents may feel tropical storm conditions tonight.
