After reaching its highest attendance in years, the Guam Affordable Housing Symposium concluded today further discussing the needs and concerns of the housing industry on Guam.

Regional manager of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco Craig Nolte says today's topics included challenges to alternative building systems, energy efficiency, housing policies and legislation.

"So this year, we identified new challenges, other ways because we've already tackled a lot of the challenges -- so we're looking at what else is keeping people from getting into homes" he said.

the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco was one of many stakeholders who coordinated the two–day symposium together with the Guam Housing Corporation and GHURA. Nolte hopes discussions will continue after the symposium to aid in building more affordable housing on Guam.
