Criminal trial setting delayed in murder case
Guam - A trial date has not been set in the case of a man who murdered his estranged wife. Emmanuel Cepeda had a criminal trial setting in the Superior Court of Guam today. The defense had requested a forensic evaluation after Cepeda pleaded not guilty and indicated that they may change the plea to not guilty by reason of mental illness, disease or defect at a later time. Cepeda is being held behind bars for the murder of his estranged wife, Emma Catapang Cepeda. The defense continues to wait for additional discovery from the government. Another criminal trial setting is scheduled for May 29.
