Guam - During their meeting last night the Guam Education Board approved a resolution to request the Governor's Office to release the Department of Education's 15% reserves, or $30 million.  During the meeting at Okkodo High School, DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez clarified that $687,500 will be set aside to fund the startup of the Guåhan Academy Charter School.  Fernandez adds that the release of the reserve is necessary to cover employee salaries and benefits for the remainder of the fiscal year.
