Guam Shipyard issued new certificate of adequacy
Guam - Guam Shipyard has been issued a new certificate of adequacy for receiving and storing oil. It was in February KUAM News reported that the company was found improperly storing oil products in its barges and dry docks. The Coast Guard and Naval Base Guam for two months worked with Guam Shipyard to clean up its act. More than 160,000 gallons of oil was safely removed and disposed of. As a result of that incident the Guam Shipyard's certificate was suspended until now. The new certificate is good for five years and allows the Guam Shipyard to accept any oceangoing vessels at its facility.
