Guam - The Guam Regional Medical City spoke to members of the chamber today giving them an update on the progress of what will soon be Guam's first private hospital. Chief operating officer Kevin Haws says the hospital is halfway completed and is right on schedule, he adds they are just about ready to begin recruiting.

He told KUAM News, "Our intent is to higher locally to the fullest extent possible to the extent that there may or may not be some specialist or clinical sets that are not available here on Guam; that's what we are looking for in the mainland U.S."

As for its application for a qualifying certificate, Haws says the application has been in the hands of the Guam Economic Development Authority for a couple of months now. At this point they are waiting for GEDA's response.
