Guam - After years of failed attempts to settle teacher contracts, collective bargaining negotiations may finally garner momentum. At Tuesday's table talks meeting with the Department of Education, Guam Education Board chairman Dr. Jose Cruz said the GEB negotiating team will be announced at tonight's regular meet at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School.

As we've been reporting, both the Guam Federation of Teachers and Governor Eddie Calvo have expressed concern that an expired contract allows for a "climate of fear" within the department in which teachers refrain from speaking up to management in fear of retaliation.

The meeting starts at 6pm.
