Mayors Council opens bids for Liberation Carnival
Guam - The 69th Annual Liberation Carnival is months away and tonight the Mayor's Council of Guam is opening up bids for the different categories at the festivities. Executive director Angel Sablan says because there are no government funds used for the liberation activities, he hopes to raise as much money to make it better than last year's festivities.
He said, "Aside from food, drinks, games for the kids, the rides, the casino, the bingo, other games of chance, miscellaneous, balloons, photo booths, so it's a whole gamut of what you see at the carnival every year. And hopefully, we'll get more money this year."
Sablan adds the winning bid last year for the casino went for $306,000 from the 13-15 Guam Babe Ruth organization.
The Liberation Carnival will once again be held at Tiyan.
