Guam - "For the Love of Guam". It's the theme for Earth Day 2013, an idea generated by a GW High School student. Guam Environmental Protection Agency spokesperson Tammy Jo Anderson Taft says there are more than two dozen events aimed to celebrate and raise awareness for the protection of our environment.

She said, "There's something for everybody so if you have never participated in earth day event this is your chance to just try it out. Earth Day 2013 actually starts on March 22 for Guam with World Water Day and it goes all the way through May 11, so we are actually celebrating for a month and a half on Guam."

This year's Earth Day activities include a wide array of contest for students of all ages as well as community members. To learn more about the contests and Earth Day 2013 activities visit http://epa.guam.gov
