Guam - How the Calvo Administration intends to cut $43 million from the General Fund will be made public this week. The Spending Cuts Task Force submitted its recommendations to Governor Eddie Calvo last week.

And while the report is still under review, the island's chief executive reiterated that none of the recommendations should come as a surprise in trying to reduce the government deficit and set the course for fiscal stability. "But at this point we are still reviewing it and from there I will approve other areas that I can work on, which are basically through executive order or other decisions that can be made by myself or by my staff," Calvo told KUAM News. "But some of these other areas we may need legislative approval and that we will also be sending suggestions or bills over for their action."

He does anticipate providing full details of this initiative to the legislature on July 25.
