Rodriguez seeks AG opinion on PPACA

Guam - The Attorney General has been asked to look into TakeCare's actions as well as the individual and employer mandates that were recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. Healthcare Committee chair Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. has asked for a legal opinion on whether the mandates apply to Guam and if the government can be held liable for not having enough money to fund a health insurance exchange that is required under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Rodriguez has also asked if Guam opts out of establishing an exchange, what the ramifications will be to the island's Medicaid system.
