Guam - The Mayors Council of Guam is expecting a half-million dollars in Compact impact money in the coming weeks. According to MCOG executive director Angel Sablan, each village will be allotted $25,000 to give their communities a facelift.
"This is $25,000 per village to refurbish their basketball courts, fix their baseball fields, and the community centers. I know, $25,000 is not much per village, but it will go a long ways to improving these facilities," said Sablan.
Unlike money from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, Sablan says the Department of the Interior funds have no expiration date.
