Former corrections officer released on parole
by Nick Delgado
Guam - After spending the last decade behind bars, former Department of Corrections officer Jimmy Manley was granted parole. In May 2001, Manley was driving a Toyota Tundra while under the influence of alcohol and rammed into the back of a pickup truck, injuring six people and resulting in the death of 13-year-old Sharleen Sudo Aguon.
He was sentenced to 14 years behind bars after pleading guilty to one count of vehicular homicide and five counts of aggravated assault.
Highway Patrol officers said Manley was under the influence of alcohol and was drag racing when he made an unsafe lane change and crashed into the truck.
