Contract talks continue for superintendent-select

Guam - Department of Education superintendent-select Jon Fernandez believes a finalized contract should be completed by the end of the week. Fernandez tells KUAM News he has been in constant contact with the education board over the past week to ensure the final version of the contract reflect the board's intent and what was approved. 

The board took out a number of benefits in the contract and increased the annual salary to $150,000 a year.  Once Fernandez signs the contract, the governor will have to review it and sign off on it. The superintendent select says it's still too early to determine when he will officially start the job but is hopeful he can be here sometime next month.
