Guam - The Department of Education may be struggling to spend their share of stimulus money, but that's not a problem at the University of Guam. The UOG College of Natural and Applied Science celebrated the completion of $1.4 million worth of America Reinvestment and Recovery Act-funded renovations to the school's Science Building.

Acting UOG president Dr. Helen Whippy says the newly renovated labs will enhance hands-on learning, telling KUAM News, "Now, it's absolutely what we need - I was just thinking that there are many ways of getting content now academically. You can get it on the Internet; we don't need faculty to tell us content. What we need is experiential learning. You experience it in the lab."

The renovations coincide with UOG's 60th anniversary.
