Guam - An unidentified man was transported to the hospital this evening with serious injuries after his motorcycle collided head on with a Nissan Versa around 7:40pm. Witnesses say the driver of the vehicle was heading north on route 8 attempting to make a left turn into the Plumeria condominiums when the motorcycle came speeding south crashing into it. Guam police highway patrol are on scene investigating. The driver of the Nissan was taken into custody, but police have not yet released details. The motorcyclist condition is also unknown at this time. Police meantime blocked off all traffic along route 8 in the area as they continue their investigation.



Around 7:15pm, Monday, April 16, 2012, officer responded to an Auto / Motorcycle crash on Route 8, Red Plumaria Hotel, Maite.

Vehicle 1, 2006 Suzuki Motorcycle being operated by a male/Chamorro/24/Toto inner heading towards Hagatna by Red Plumaria Hotel, Vehicle 2, 2007 Nissan Versa being operated by a male/Chuukese/31 headed in the opposite direction failed to yield while attempting to enter the parking lot of the Red Plumaria Hotel by cutting in front of the Suzuki path causing the crash.

The operator of the Susuki motorcycle was taken to GMH in serious but stable condition.

The operator of the Nissan Versa was arrested.

NIBERTO SAMUEL KINTARO, M/CHUUK/31 for Failure to Yield, DUI with Injuries, Cutting Corners, and Improper Left Turn.  He was booked and confined.

Guam Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
