Guam - North Korea may have launched a long range rocket this morning but it posed no threat to Guam.  Guam Homeland Security/Office of Civil Defense (GHS/OCD) was in contact with the Department of Defense as the country launched the rocket in commemoration of the 100th birthday of the country's founding father, Kim Il Sung. GHS/OCD Spokesperson Alyssa Benito says DOD officials confirmed that the rocket's trajectory was not a threat to Guam.

National media reports indicate the rocket broke up in the earth's atmosphere soon after it was launched.
