17 polluted beaches noted by Guam EPA

Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection agency reports 17 beaches polluted above the accepted bacteriological standards this week. These waters include Dungca's beach, Padre Palomo park beach, West Hagatna bay, Adelup beach park, Asan bay beach, Piti bay, Santos Memorial park, Tocha beach near Namo river and near Southern Christian Academy, Bangi beach, Nimitz beach, Toguan bay, Merizo Pier at Mamaon Channel,
Inarajan bay, Talofofo bay, First beach and Pago bay. GEPA warns that swimming, fishing or playing in these unsafe waters may result in minor or serious illnesses.
West Hagatna bay also remains closed due to the fractured outfall at the Hagatna sewage treatment plant.
