Japan may agree to increase contribution

The U.S. and Japanese governments continue negotiations on revising its 2006 Realignment Roadmap.

Guam - It appears Japan is changing its mind. At first it was reluctant, but Japanese media are now reporting that the government there is likely to agree to the U.S. request to increase its contribution for the Marines relocation from Okinawa to Guam from the agreed upon $2.8 billion contribution to $3.5 billion.  As we've been reporting the U.S. and Japanese governments continue negotiations on revising its 2006 Realignment Roadmap.
