Guam - Committee chair on the Military Buildup Senator Judith Guthertz says Section 30 reimbursements is something many officials on Guam have been lobbying for over the past four years. She says she provided all the previous written communications she had with the Department of Defense regarding Section 30 funds to the governor before he left for DC.

"I'm pretty sure it will cover all uniform ranks and all federal employees and what's good for us is that it doesn't matter how long they are here, whether they are here on assignment for a day or 20 days, 50 days or 180 days or 3 years that with this revised plan that their federal tax dollars will go to Guam Treasury rather than to the US Treasury."

Guthertz adds the funds are definitely needed by GovGuam to fix the island's aging infrastructure.
