Guam - The Guam Waterworks Authority and the Guam Power Authority can now move forward with their proposed consolidated building as the Public Utilities Commission approved their $35 million project at its meeting last night. The new building in Mangilao should break ground sometime this fall and be completed in 2014.

The PUC meanwhile approved a four percent across-the-board rate increase for the Port Authority, including cargo handling and labor charges after consultants from both the Port and PUC found rates to be under set. The PUC will next meet to discuss GPA's request to petition in adjusting the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause on January 30.
