CCU to authorize $9M treatment plant upgrade
Guam - The Consolidated Commission on Utilities is expected to authorize its private partner, Veolia, to begin the $9,000,000 upgrade to the Northern Wastewater Treatment Plant. The yearlong project would bring the Guam Waterworks Authority into compliance with primary treatment requirements that haven't been met for decades.
CCU chairman Simon Sanchez says bond funds will be used to pay for the project since funding for the buildup has been on hold.
