Steven Wang arraignment on new changes continued
by Mindy Aguon
Guam - Hua Sheng International president Steven Wang was scheduled to appear in the District Court this afternoon to answer to additional federal charges that were handed down in a superseding indictment earlier this month, but the matter was continued. He faces 128 counts of criminal charges for allegedly bringing H-2B workers from China to Guam, underpaying them, keeping them beyond their visas and not paying taxes.
Wang is charged with mail fraud, visa fraud, money laundering, harboring an illegal alien and willful failure to pay taxes. The company's contractor's license was revoked in June of 2009 but workers were still being forced to work at various sites around the island.
The matter will be rescheduled by the court.
